Monitoring and querying autobiographical events (US12245865B2) (2025)
R. Ostrand, J. Reinen, R. Anderson, J. Kozhaya
Abstract:
In an approach to monitoring and querying autobiographical events, one or more computer processors receive data from one or more sensors associated with a user. Based on the received data from the one or more sensors, one or more computer processors detect an autobiographical event associated with the user. One or more computer processors convert the received data from the one or more sensors into one or more observations associated with the autobiographical event. One or more computer processors convert the one or more observations into one or more questions associated with the one or more observations. One or more computer processors query the user with the one or more questions. One or more computer processors receive at least one response to the one or more questions from the user.
Speaker-specific voice amplification (US12148443B2) (2024)
R. Ostrand, S. Saranathan, F. Lu, C.P. Agurto Rios
Abstract:
A method, system and computer program product for amplifying a single voice during an audio conversation. One embodiment of the method may comprise receiving, by a computing device, an audio sample of speech from a user, and generating, by the computing device, a user-specific acoustic model for enhancement of speech by the user based upon the audio sample. The method may further comprise receiving a live audiovisual stream, the live audiovisual stream including live speech by the user during an audio conversation, wherein the live audiovisual stream includes background noise, and using, by the computing device, the user-specific acoustic model to selectively amplify the live speech during the live audiovisual stream without amplifying the background noise.
Acoustic analysis of crowd sounds (US11996121B2) (2024)
R. Ostrand, V. Figueredo De Santana, A.P.D. Binotto
Abstract:
A method, computer system, and a computer program product for detecting face mask usage based on a crowd sound is provided. The present invention may include capturing an audio stream including a crowd voice data. The present invention may also include analyzing the crowd voice data using a machine learning model to determine an amount of people wearing masks. The present invention may further include in response to determining that the amount of people wearing masks does not meet a compliance threshold, displaying a content to promote face mask usage.
Automatically detecting need for breakout virtual meeting (US11816311B2) (2023)
R. Ostrand, J.P. O'Connor
Abstract:
A method, computer system, and a computer program product for automatic detection of the need for a breakout virtual meeting is provided. The present invention may include receiving a computerized version of a real-time conversation between a plurality of participants of a virtual meeting. The present invention may also include determining whether a breakout virtual meeting is necessary among a subset of the plurality of participants of the virtual meeting. The present invention may further include, in response to determining that the breakout virtual meeting is necessary, automatically transmitting an alert indicating that the breakout virtual meeting is necessary among the subset of the plurality of participants of the virtual meeting.
Real-time discussion relevance feedback interface (US11488585B2) (2022)
J.P. O'Connor, R. Ostrand
Abstract:
A method, computer system, and a computer program product for discussion relevance feedback associated with an electronic meeting is provided. The method may include determining a meeting topic associated with the electronic meeting and receiving audio data recording the vocal interactions of one or more meeting attendees. The method may further include generating a textual representation of the received audio data and then identifying a current discussion topic based on the generated textual representation. The method may further include determining a semantic distance between the identified current discussion topic and the determined meeting topic and generating discussion relevance feedback based on the determined semantic distance.
